RDGA Futures Golf Club 

In 2005, the RDGA created the Futures Golf Club for Junior golfers (boys and girls ages 9 – 17) who were not members of one of our member clubs, but sought the opportunity to learn the game of golf and participate in RDGA Junior Golf events.  We understood the importance of promoting the game of golf and saw the benefits in providing ample opportunity for more of Rochester’s young aspiring golfers. 

The RDGA Futures Golf Club is a non real estate club (not affiliated with a golf course) that allows kids to participate in all Junior events that the RDGA offers.  With membership, the golfer receives a GHIN number so they can post scores at any club operating on the system and, in turn, can calculate their handicap index and utilize the GHIN system online. 

In 2006, we had approximately 26 junior golfers sign up and play in our extensive tournament schedule.  We hope to increase these numbers and participation in 2007.  We are hopeful that adults who learn about our program will contact the RDGA with names of potential junior golfers who may be interested.  Adults active in education, athletics, service organizations, community organizations, religious organizations, and youth mentoring programs are among those the RDGA is reaching out to for assistance and referrals. 

It is an excellent opportunity for all Rochester area youth golfers to get involved in the game, whether it is an introductory golf lesson, junior tournaments or practice during the off-season for high school golf teams.   The RDGA hosts competitors of each gender, all abilities, and various ages and welcomes new golfers each year.
