Sarkis Takes RDGA Individual Stroke Play Title
Wade Sarkis of Canandaigua Country Club won this year's RDGA Individual Stroke Play event with a three under par 69 at Bristol Harbour Golf Club. He took advantage of the front nine with birdies on 4 and 5, as well as an eagle on the par 5 6th. Sarkis ended up shooting three under 34 on the opening nine. Wade coasted on the back nine with one birdie and one bogey to shoot even par 35. With his win Wade Sarkis earns an exemption into the 2013 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial Championship.
Sarkis was not the only one to take advantage of the front nine, Sean Flint of Midvale Country Club shot a blistering 32, recording five birdies in a row on holes 4-8. Flint stumbled on the back to a four over par 39, putting him at 71 for the day, good for second place in the A flight.
