Beautifully-groomed Penfield Country Club will host the 2015 RDGA Women’s Open on Monday, August 31.
The Rochester District Golf Association is excited to be bringing back the RDGA Women’s Open for a second year – bringing together women golfers of all abilities in the spirit of competition and cameraderie!
Scheduled for Monday, August 31, the 2015 RDGA Women’s Open is an event for all women who are RDGA members and have an active USGA-GHIN Handicap Index through the RDGA. The format will consist of 18 holes of stroke play – with multiple flights, so that players will be competing against other players of similar abilities.
The winners of the overall low gross and low net divisions will be presented with trophies to display at their home clubs for the next year – and low gross scores will earn points towards the inagural RDGA Women’s Player of the Year award, to be announced at the end of the season.
Hosting this year’s RDGA Women’s Open will be Penfield Country Club – an 18-hole private championship golf course which opened its first nine holes in 1959 and the second nine (today’s back nine) in 1965. The tree-lined layout features wooded fairways, picturesque water hazards, challenging bunkers and gently contoured yet fast greens. The 2015 Women’s Open will be contested from the forward tees.
The entry fee of $95 includes golf with cart, use of the practice range, tee gifts, prizes, box lunch and dinner. Contestants are welcome to bring a guest for the awards dinner. Prizes will be awarded to approximately the top third of the field.
The field is limited to the first 100 entries – and spaces are filling up fast! To join in on the fun, CLICK HERE to visit the RDGA’s Women’s Open tournament page for complete information about the event, including format details, a list of the current field and instructions on how to register.
