Playing with friends is what golf is all about. The camaraderie, the fun times, the memories.
For some, however, such outings can result in unexpected stress: while their friends like to “play from the tips,” others wish they could play from tees that better suit their skill level – making the round truly an enjoyable experience for all.
If this scenario sounds familiar, then join us on Monday, June 27 as the beautiful Mendon Golf Club hosts an all-new tournament format for 2016 – the RDGA Tee It Forward OR Tee It Back Event.
As part of a joint initiative between the USGA and the PGA of America, the RDGA Tee It Forward OR Tee It Back Event will encourage those golfers who wish to play from a set of tees better suited to their driving distance the opportunity to do so, while others can challenge themselves from the longer tees.
So, for the RDGA Tee It Forward OR Tee It Back Event, men will have the option to play the Gold “Tee It Forward” Tees (5,707 yards) OR the White Tees (6,369 yards), while women will play the RDGA “Tee It Forward” Tees (appoximately 4,700 yards), OR the Red Tees (5,495 yards).

And now, as a special offer to RDGA Members the fee for this event is just $65 per golfer! This includes golf, cart, use of the Mendon practice range and hors d’oeuvres following play – as well as prizes for all flights, including a separate flight and prizes for women. Like our RDGA Play Days, the RDGA Tee It Forward Event will be a FULL handicap event, open to all men and women who have active USGA Handicap Indexes with an RDGA Member Club.
Celebrating its 65th anniversary this year as one of the area’s premier private clubs, Mendon has been host to many prestigious events – including this year’s U.S. Open Local Qualifier, the U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifier and the recent NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship.
If you’ve played in an RDGA event before or if this is your first RDGA tournament experience, we recommend “Teeing It Forward” – see how fun it can be!
