In the spirit of growing the game of golf – and strengthening our connections with our neighbors to the west – the Buffalo District Golf Association has invited members of the Rochester District Golf Association to play in their season-opening event, the BDGA Two-Person Scramble. The event features two men’s flights, a senior flight, a women’s flight and a mixed flight.
Following a washout of the originally scheduled date for this event, the 2017 BDGA Two Person Scramble has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 23. By then, the beautiful Fox Valley Club in Lancaster, located between Buffalo and Batavia, will be ready to host this event for the enjoyment of one and all. One of the Buffalo District’s top private clubs, Fox Valley first opened in 1991 and plays to a par 72. Fox Valley is also home to the Western New York PGA Museum and offices.
A 2:30 p.m. shotgun start is planned for this event, which will include competition in FIVE flights: Men’s Open, Men’s B (both players must have USGA Handicap Indexes of 10.0 or higher); Men’s Senior (both players must be age 50 or higher), Women’s and Mixed. Registration is $140 per team and includes golf, cart, dinner, prizes. Scratch event by division.
To play in the 2017 BDGA Two-Person Scramble, you need a current USGA Handicap Index issued through the RDGA or an RDGA Member Club. To register, contact BDGA Executive Director Mark Rydza at rydzam@yahoo.com. Registration for this event closes at midnight on May 18.
