Mill Creek Hosting Rescheduled 2017 RDGA Two-Person Scramble on May 13

Mill Creek Golf Club, above, hosts the annual RDGA Two Person Scramble on Saturday, May 13.

Mother Nature may have prevented our annual RDGA Two Person Scramble at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville from opening our season this weekend – but, with the tournament rescheduled for NEXT Saturday, May 13, that gives YOU more time to register!

So, if you missed signing up for the Two Person Scramble at its originally-scheduled date, NOW is your chance to find a partner and join us for this fun event – a few openings remain for two-person teams and registration remains open through this Sunday, May 7, at midnight.

Open to all golfers with a current USGA GHIN Handicap Index issued by the RDGA or an RDGA Member Club – including men and women, ages 18 and above – the cost to enter is $160 per two-person team and includes the use of the range, cart, golf and prizes. Following play, contestants will be treated to a selection of hors d’ouvres during scoring and distribution of prizes.

Unlike the Two Person Four Ball, the Two Person Scramble format allows both players in a team to play from the same location of the team’s best shot, with at least six drives from each player being used in the round. Play continues until the first player holes out on each hole. Flights for this event will based on the current lowest RDGA/USGA Handicap Index of the team members.

Other features of this competition:

  • Each member of the overall winning Men’s Championship Flight team playing from the Blue Tees at 6,570 yards (plus ties) earns an exemption to the 2017 RDGA District Championship – John H. Ryan Memorial in July.
  • In the Women’s Flight (which will play from the Gold Tees at 4,879 yards) prizes will be awarded to the teams with the low Net score and the low Gross score – with players from the team (or teams) with the lowest gross score earning exemptions to the 2017 RDGA Women’s Championship – Danielle E. Downey Memorial in July.
  • Also, for those men’s teams not playing for the the Ryan Memorial exemptions – there will be a Men’s White Tee Flight, with play being contested from a distance of 6,153 yards.

Under new management and situated atop an elevated plateau West of Rochester, Mill Creek Golf Club is located minutes south of the Village of Churchville and offers sweeping views of the surrounding area (and downtown Rochester!) and a memorable 18 hole championship layout.

The deadline to enter the 2017 RDGA Two Person Four Ball is this Sunday, May 7.
