2020 RDGA Tournament Schedule Update: April 27
– May Events –
Due to the ongoing health crisis caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, we have decided that it is in the best interests of our members and member clubs to adjust the RDGA Tournaments that were originally scheduled for the month of May as follows:
- The 2020 RDGA Junior Classic, scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at Penfield Country Club, has been CANCELED. If you were registered to play in this event, you will receive a full refund of your entry fee.
- The 2020 RDGA Two Person Scramble, scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at Wayne Hills Country Club, has been POSTPONED. We will announce a re-scheduled date for this event by May 1. If you are currently registered for this event, you do not need to do anything at this time. However, if you decide that you cannot play on the rescheduled date when that is announced, you will have the option to receive a full refund of your entry fee.
- The 2020 RDGA Match Play and RDGA Senior Match Play Championships, scheduled for May 29-31 at the Golf Club at Blue Heron Hills, are tentatively planned to be PLAYED AS SCHEDULED – with the exception that the starting brackets for each Championship will be reduced from 32 to 16 players, as we accommodate extended start times to account for social distancing protocols. If you are pre-qualified for this event (based on the top-32 point winners from 2019 for men and seniors), you still have a limited time to reserve your place in the starting field – entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. It was announced by the USGA last month that the Local Qualifying rounds for the 2020 U.S. Open were canceled – accordingly, the U.S. Open Local Qualifier originally scheduled for Monday, May 4 at Ravenwood Golf Club was also CANCELED. Since then, the U.S. Open has been rescheduled for September 17-20 – however, there has still not been any new qualifying dates announced by the USGA. We will pass along any new announcements as they happen. CLICK HERE for more information about USGA Qualifying.
The RDGA thanks you for your patience as we navigate the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic.
