2023 Girls’ Junior Player of the Year

The 2023 RDGA Girls’ Junior Player of the Year: Emily Ferguson

The Rochester District Golf Association began its Girls’ Junior Player of the Year Award in 2018 as a way to honor the year’s top female junior players – ages 12 through 18 – based on points earned from local, regional and national junior tournaments throughout the season.

Winning the 2023 RDGA Girls’ Junior Player of the Year Award – for the first time – was Emily Ferguson of Brook-Lea Country Club. Ferguson – a veteran RDGA Junior tournament competitor and a top Section V High School standout – finished 25 points ahead of RDGA Junior Member Harper Dittman, who won the RDGA Girls Junior Championship title in July. Ferguson also finished third in the RDGA Girls Junior Championship this year.

By the end of the season, Ferguson had compiled 325 points to lead the way in the Girls’ Junior player of the Year category – with Dittman finishing with 300.
