Buffalo Juniors, Sub Juniors, Sweep 2018 Interdistrict Junior Titles at Geneva CC

Led by Junior individual medalist Anthony Delisanti, second from right, the Buffalo Interdistrict Junior team claimed the 2018 team title at Geneva Country Club on Friday, August 24.

On Friday, August 24, Geneva Country Club hosted the 2018 Interdistrict Junior Championship – a competition that features teams of Junior boys (ages 15 to 18) and Sub Junior boys (ages 12 to 14) from the Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo District Golf Associations.

In an 18-hole stroke play competition, the low five of six scores in the Junior competition and the low five of six scores in the Sub Junior competition counted towards each team’s total score. The low individual medalist in each of the Junior and Sub junior divisions were also recognized.

The Buffalo District swept both the team and individual competitions this year, including the Junior Division team title with a 382 score. Rochester finished three shots back in second place with a 385, while Syracuse finished third at 401. Individual scoring from the Buffalo Junior team included: Anthony Delasanti (69), Mitch Jeffe (74), Luke Stanley (75), Matt Jackson (81), Anthony Gullo (83) and Jaxson Hummel (84).

Among Rochester Juniors, Tyler McDonnell finished second overall with a score of even-par 71, while Joey Maher and John Mittiga both finished fourth overall with scores of 75.

In the Sub Junior Division, Buffalo claimed the team title with a score of 400. Syracuse Sub Juniors finished second with a 410, followed by Rochester in third place with a 414. Individual results from the Buffalo Sub Junior team included: Ryan Edholm (74), Alex Schickling (75), Owen Rooney (80), Steven Bleck (80), Tyler Delisanti (91) and RJ Delisanti (92).
