Moving up to second place overall in Round 3 was Monroe’s Tim Spitz, with a 2-under-par 70 on Friday for a 54-hole total of 220.
The biggest mover in Round 3, however, was 4-time District Champion Jim Scorse of Stafford. Scorse posted three birdies on the front 9 and four on the back for a new course record of 7-under-par 65. Scorse’s three-round total of 221 is good for a third-place tie with Jack Gianniny of CCR, who posted a 73 on Friday.
Also on Friday, the RDGA Women’s Championship got under way with Round 1 action. In the First Round of the RDGA Women’s Championship, Brook-Lea’s Jenna Hoecker posted a score of 5-over-par 77. Hoecker, the 2014 RDGA Women’s Champion, will take a 7-shot lead into the second and final round on Saturday, leading Chili’s Cindy Glitzer, who shot 84 on Friday.
And, in the inaugural running of the RDGA Women’s Senior Championship, Ellen Weeks of Canandaigua holds a 2-shot lead after an opening round 87. Joy Florczak of Durand Eastman is second after posting an 89 on Friday. |
