NYS Position on Golf Course Operations Under Current COVID-19 Restrictions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MARCH 25, 2020

The Empire State Development office has determined that golf courses throughout New York State can operate under the current NYS COVID-19 restrictions if using appropriate precautions to maintain social distancing, as identified by the NYS Parks Department on this website:

Golf: Courses are taking steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19, including increasing the space between tee times, removing ball washers and bunker rakes, and avoiding the use of tandem golf carts.

USGA: The USGA has issued official modifications of the Rules of Golf and Handicapping when posting scores while utilizing Social Distancing, as well as some general guidelines:
