Three Players Tied for 1st After Round 1 of the 2014 RDGA Senior Championships

With one round complete in the 54-hole Rochester District Golf Association Senior Championship at Livingston Country Club in Geneseo on Tuesday, there is a three-way tie for the lead on the overall leaderboard.

Sharing the first round lead, with scores of 7-over-par 79, are defending champion Robert Zeman of Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, 2008 RDGA Senior Champion Bob Weston of Blue Heron Hills Golf Club and Kevin Webb of Clifton Springs Country Club.

Tied for fourth place at 8-under-par 80 are Jack Timmons of Churchville Golf Club and Robert Brongo of Genesee Valley Golf Club. Curt Reimer of Webster Golf Club will begin the second round in sixth place, two shots behind the leaders, after an opening-round 81.

Open to all men, age 55 and over, who are members of an RDGA Member Club or who have their handicaps through an RDGA Member Club, the RDGA Senior Championships include competitions for Seniors (ages 55-59), Super Seniors (ages 60-64), Masters (ages 65-69) and Legends (ages 70+). At the conclusion of the Championship, the RDGA Senior Championship trophy will be awarded to the overall champion, with winners being recognized in each age category.

Leading each age category after Round 1 are: Webb, in the Senior Division; Weston and Zeman in the Super Senior Division; Jack Mahan of Oak Hill Country Club and Ron Wheeler of Webster Golf Club in the Masters Division; and Brian Lingenfelter of Clifton Springs Country Club in the Legends Division.

Play continues on Wednesday with Round 2, and concludes with Round 3 on Thursday. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. each day and continue through 10 a.m.
