Wednesday’s action at Livingston Country Club in Geneseo began with three players – Robert Zeman of Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, Bob Weston of Blue Heron Hills Golf Club and Kevin Webb of Clifton Springs Country Club – all tied for the lead at 79 after Tuesday’s first round. But with birdies still as rare in Round Two as they were in Round One, Wednesday’s play centered on those players who could post the fewest bogeys.
On Wednesday, Zeman – the defending champion – posted five bogeys and two double bogeys, vs. one birdie, to finish with a round of 82 on the day, falling into a tie for third place at 17-over 161 for the two day total with Genesee Valley Golf Club Robert Brongo.
First –round co-leader Webb fared worse, posting eight bogeys, three double bogeys and two birdies to finish with an 84 – and a share of sixth place overall at 19-over 163.
Weston – a two-time RDGA Senior Champion – finished closest to the lead through two rounds, posting a second consecutive 79 for a 14-over 158 total to complete round two just one shot behind Reimer heading into the final round.
